I got into building garage kits about 8 years ago. I have always built plastic models since I was a kid. I was starting to get board with tanks and airplanes and stumbled into the resin figure kits. I really like the increased detail and the painting challenge makes it a lot of fun.
Note:I wanted to get these pics up, but a lot of them need retaken, I am just learning how to take these types of pics.
Red Sonja
I found this kit at wonderfest 2009 from another attendee.
Karnstien Bust
This is from SolarWind Studios. The released this kit a couple years ago but it went out of production. The just brought it back into production last xmas.
Lucky Star
This is a kit based on the end of the Alien movie. I picked this kit up from X-O Facto at wonderfest 2008.
Winged Karnstien
The is from Solar Wind Studios. I build this for Wonderfest 2008 and took a bronze.
Thor
This is Thor from Sam Greenwell studios. This was a great fun kit. I took some liberties with the hair color. I kind of painted him more like a greek god instead of a Nortic god. I bought this kit at Wonderfest 2008
The Grinch
This is a very simple kit I bought at Wonderfest 2007 from Jimmy Flintstone. I is just a bust, so I built a custom base that looks like a bag. This kit was entered in the humor category at Wonderfest 2007 and took a silver.
Hellboy
This was a fun little kit that I bought at wonderfest 2007 also from Jimmy Flintstone. It's just an out of the box build. It was never built for compentition, but I took it to wonderfest 2008 and took a Merit.
Tandem Twin
I am still trying to figure out what makes it tandem twin, I would have to say side by side twin. Anyway, I got a little carried away with purple.
Worrywart
This is an original kit from cygenus studios. The base is scratch built form balsa foam. I entered it in the model contest at Wonderfest 2007 and took a bronze. The last pic is worrywart with a very small percentage of the stiff competition that I competed against.
Akari Kanzaki
This is the main Character from the anime "Battle Athletes"
Belldandy
This is a resin model of the anime character Belldandy from the anime "Oh My Goddess" I combined the resin kit with a styrene motorcycle kit from tamaya.
Hulk
This is a styrene kit from Toybiz. It was a very low quality kit with very bad joint gaps, but with a little work it cleaned up very nicely.
Lexa
This is a kit from Solarwind productions. It is a very nicely sculpted kit that went together very well.
